What to consider when buying a hob.
Cooking zones come in different shapes, sizes, and configurations. Siemens' freeInduction cooktops provide one large cooking surface that allows you to place cookware of any size anywhere on the hob, holding up to six pots and pans. flexInduction cooktops come with flexible cooking zones that automatically adapt to your cookware. combiZone consists of two classic cooking zones that can be connected to create one large zone. And, our classic two-ring circular cooking zones models are ideal for both small and big cookware.
The frame design of hobs plays a crucial role in their appearance in the kitchen. With Siemens hobs you can choose between four different types of frame designs:
- Flush design
- frameless
- design frame
- classic steel frame
With our gas hobs, you have a choice between a black tempered glass/ceramic surface or a stainless-steel surface.
All Siemens hobs include a number of smart details that contribute to your pleasurable cooking experience. Automatic pan detection ensures the needed cooking zones only heat up once your cookware is in place, and the residual heat indicator lets you know when it's not safe to touch.
You can instantly block all the hob's functions using the childproof lock button, and set the timer to automatically shut down the cooking zones when the selected cooking time expires.
Cookware is an important consideration when choosing a hob. Induction hobs will only work with stainless steel and cast iron, or pots and pans that have an induction plate built into the base. Gas hobs will work with all cookware, including ceramic and stone. Electrical ceramic hobs work best with aluminium, stainless steel and copper cookware.
Check the cooking zone options to optimally match your cookware sizes.
Induction hobs are our most energy-efficient electrical cooktops. Heat is applied directly to the cookware and after turning it off, it is instantly cold again with no heat wasted. This allows for precise and fast adjustments to the heat in your pots and pans.
